- Keep your mat aside wall.
- If you have a thin mat, fold it and make it thicker so it could provide comfort.
- Now sits on folded legs on the mat.
- Now turn forward and place the elbows of both hands on the ground.
- Now take your hands together and make a triangle shape with your forearms.
- Keep your head in the middle of the triangle gently.
- Slowly lift your body from your hip and make sure to straighten the legs.
Headstand Yoga pose for beginner
Try to lift one leg then try another if you are not comfortable with both or you may try half of the legs at the beginning then pull both legs
Try to raise both legs straight up. Try to take at least the weight on the head. Make the body straight.
In the beginning, take a total of five breaths in and out so that you can stay in the asana for 30 seconds. Gradually, as your body starts gaining strength, you can increase the time – do not exceed 5 minutes. It may take you a few months or even years to take a journey from 30 seconds to 5 minutes, so don’t be in a hurry!. Remember practice makes you perfect.

Take the support of the wall if you are not comfortable or nervous with a direct headstand
If there is difficulty while pulling up legs you can hold your position at the beginning stage then at the next level try to take it up as you feel set
When you are confident that you can maintain your balance, then move both legs up, or practice moving away from the wall.

Do not try a headstand if you have the followings:
- Back or neck injury.
- Headache.
- Heart disease.
- High blood pressure.
- Menstruation, or
- Low BP.

Pregnancy: If you have experience in doing headstand yoga poses then you can continue in pregnancy. But keep in mind that do not practice headstands for the first time after becoming pregnant. Take advice from the doctor about it.
